admiration
i pity those who just don't know what's good for them
seriously, if u find someone who is willing to give u what u want from somone else, then STUFF THAT SOMEONE ELSE and go that other person.....
sigh.....
saw the pope's funeral last night....and sure...the beginning was bit boring....but i enjoyed it mostly...
my favourite part? when 320 priests and bishops 'fanned out' amongs the 2 million in the crowd so that they could give as many ppl as they could, communion. i also felt that 'giving peace' was great - presidents giving peace to other presidents and so on and so on. hehe they had to have special sitting arrangements so they didn't have a clash. did u know even the president (?) of iran was there...sitting next to the president (?) of israel...i thought that was pretty cool....and i thought it was cool that ppl in positions of leadership from judaism and islamic faith were there.
also very cool how it was very much a multicultral celebration. oh! and i had no idea that there were eastern catholics who wore more colourful robes (the prists) and i thought it was cool they let the head of the eastern catholic church also do that smoke thing they do.
overall, i just felt it was symbolic that so many different races, beliefs, countries got together to farewell a fairly remarkable man. from what i've learnt over the past week, i admire John Paul II's determination to have democracy in every country. i admire the fact that he was very open to different cultures in the catholic faith. i admire the fact that he saw the need to mend the rift btw the different christian dominations and the different religions around the world itself.
he may have had very conservative views (contraception....i don't particularly agree with here) but he was fairly radical with others i think. hopefully, the next pope will do those abv three things i mentioned that made me admire the late Pope. bc i just think, we always need someone to lead those kind of ideals so that the world will follow. And who better, then a religious leader, who accepts other religions, wants to work with other religions and overall, just wants peace in the world.
