kind thoughts

Realization #2: We are who we are, due to our upbringing, our childhood. And sometimes, it's very hard to change old habits instilled in us from our youth.

It is amazing just how true that realization is (ok well, true in my head). Duh i realise that i'm still a 'youth' but i've been observing lately, and the way ppl percieve certain things, do certain things, say certain things - are influenced by the way their parents raised them, by the society they live(d) in. How things would change so much, had they been born to a different family,  lived in a different country.

Today was one of those weird days, where u just notice things that are similar and they make u think 'huh'. Despite being such a LONG friday....such a LONG LONG LONG FRIDAY....the theme for today seemed to be kindness...

my taxi driver as he shall now be known, has been incredibly nice abt picking me up at a stupid 7 30 am hr just so i don't have to walk in the cold. and he hasn't complained abt the bitch that is known as traffic and 2 degree melbourne weather...and the fact that he has to wake up earlier so he can acutally pick me up (yeah i finally got that)...hehe he won't even take petrol money bc "we're mates" - how very kind

on the bus today, the bus driver let a girl on the bus even though she didn't have enough change to buy a ticket...and then this guy picked up a disgarded beer that was on the bus and annoying everyone else - anyway, he picked it up to throw in the bin -so the bus driver didn't have to do it- and she was grateful... it was just very pleasing to see some human decency on the bus for once - it made me smile- which made the man opposite me look weirdly

BUT the ultimate kindness today came from a friend who rocks. I got a FREE brownie! after rambling on abt buying one for abt 2 weeks!!and it came at the best time too, bc i was feeling all shitty abt voluntarily agreeing to ANOTHER STUPID 8 am meeting - which means in week 5 i have FRIGGIN 5 FRIGGIN 8am STARTS (in hind-sight, i do have to have that 8am start bc we having crappy time tables- stupid monash med!)- anyhow, that brownie seriously made my day.

Acts of kindness all over the place- i'm sure there were more that i'm just too oblivious to this sort of stuff- but what a kind day huh?

Anyway, thanks sweet yam for ur gift - i surely enjoyed the brownie- it was GOOD.
i reckon i owe u some banana chips, carrots and grapes ey?
