the best thing abt melbourne
Fact #10: Melbourne IS CAPABLE of a fantastic, sunny day
ABOUT TIME! hehe It's taken ages for melb to prove itself...while all the interstate/overseas ppl have been complaining abt the melb weather ( that being cold, windy, raining, grey), i've been like...well...melb has great weather at times....
heehee and today is perfect really. It isn't hot, but there isn't a cloud in the sky. brilliant stuff...although i must say...i rather enjoy the typical melb weather...
It's rather fantastic. What's typical? oh u know...the 4 seasons in one...hehe...its great having to determine how the weather is going to be in melb....having lived here all my life...i've developed a knack for determining what kind of weather we'll have by simply pulling the curtains aside in the morning...and looking up...hehe seriously...u can tell...after a while...
i once heard someone who wasn't from melb claim: oh i love the weather here....it has seasons which makes life interesting and fantastic...and i'm thinking...yeah...yeah it does.
i couldn't imagine living somewhere else. i know that there'll be a time in my life where i'll live overseas for a while (i'm very determined in fact, here i come, england, usa or canada...denmark? hehe) BUT I DEFINITELY know that my home is here in melb. I love this place too much...the moody weather (its like its got pms sometimes...hehe) , the SHOPPING!, the culture, the many splendid cafes, the ability to go out at 11pm at night...and still have something open....
But what i love the most abt this place....is how busy and hectic things can get, how the city will be moving so very fast...and u jump from tram to tram, walk across thousands of intersections, weave ur way around ppl...and then when it all gets too much...u just need to catch one tram (mine's usually 75) and go out to the eastern suburbs..and everything is more laidback....
It's a nice balance. It's a nice mixture of things. I love it.

Damnit, MAKE me homesick, will ya.
Sigh. Trams...I love trams. Somehow there's not the same urgency to get on, there's just the right distance between you and the driver. Close enough so they can slow down if they see you running and not squash you with evil metal doors, but far enough that you can get on sans ticket. How sweet is that?
