WELL!!! the unexpected happened today....while i was dying in the epi lecture (omg she was long and boring and long and boring and long) w 10 mins to go....mady turns around and places a piece of paper on my desk...
I look...and then...get kind of confused....its a print out of one of my blog (the one called 'lists' if anyone is interested) but instead of my Fact #5 etc...there is this:
Clue #1: It can be used in the coming week and crosses out one of the following items:
and then my list of clothing items that i need (fine! i want...happy now?)
Now here's something u guys should know abt me - i never did any of those treasure hunts well bc i didn't understand clues - i can't do cryptic crosswords bc i don't understand clues - so what i'm trying to say...i didn't understand.
Geri spend the rest of the lecture trying to get me to understand...saying what on the list can u cross off...and i'm like...but why am i crossing it off? i didn't buy anything on the list...and Geri was like...no...think...what do u think u could take off the list...and i'm like...ah?
Now here's a secret, in my head i was like....are they asking me to tell them what on the list i want them to buy for my b'day? and when i thought it could be that i thought...well...i'd rather be there if u're going to buy me jackets...hehe...but then i thought...what? why would that happen? which lead to omg...i'm confused...
And then! Mady goes ok...i'm going to show the sheet to carmen...shows it to carmen and then, nads and bec take a look and everyone goes....oh ahhh.....
OH AHHHHH?!!!!! and i'm like what? why do they know something i don't? and everyone's like u still don't get it?? And i'm like, no not really. I think it was bc a) i was like...hey...everybody has a secret that i don't know abt (c'mon, i'm NOSEY) and b) i finally come to the conclusion that they have something..that is on the list...but i couldn't make the connection btw b'day and uni - yeah...why is this at uni? yep...i had weird thoughts in my head.
SO while we're walking out of the lecture theatre...my head is spinning...and i finally came to oh...this could be for my b'day...and then i'm like...but what on the list could they get and that could be used in the following week? oh following week is med ball....hold up, they didn't get me the stillettos did they?....and then i'm like..oh..hehe...the earrings...hehe
Later on, during epi tute...i read the sheet again...and mady had changed the heading of the blog to Early birthday presents...now had i read that earlier...hmmm...i don't think i would have made such a fool of myself....just as carmen so politely pointed out (NOT), i am slow...hehe
Anyhow...u'll be happy to know that i'm wearing them as i write...loving them and enjoying the fact that they're not heavy earrings (which means i shouldn't lose them at med ball or the after party!). Yes sweets, u'll definitely see them on my ears next wednesday...
THANKS U GUYS. U really shouldn't have. They're bloody expensive earrings- and i was going to get them this weekend, hehe. Mady told me u guys got them while I WAS THERE! which is so unbelievable...bc hehe at the time...i was trying to figure out the kind of cake nads would want at his surprise party...and i thought everyone was focused on getting that organising part out of the way (yeah, u sly sly girls, mady and geri...claiming u were following carmen to get those name thingys!)
i love u all: mady, geri, nads, carmen, bec. Not bc u gave me something, but bc there was effort when there was no need for it. Now though, promise me something....no more surprises ok? hehe it was weird that focus was on me blah blah blah..and..plus...i dont' like making a fool out of myself...hehe...
Again, thank you for the gift. It was well thought of, and mady...i truly love the sheet of paper...it was such a briliant idea and the kind of present that i would love - it's just hmmm..... so Me. hehe. I'm going to keep it forever....ask me when we're 85 and i'll be able to show u!
