its all over
haha!!!! FINALLY!!!! oh joy to the world! i'm really serious. its absolutely fantastic!
so i had my osce today....and its brilliant brilliant brilliant stuff. no, i'm not saying that i did the most brilliant thing ever in my osces (in fact, i'm pretty sure that i stuffed up A GREAT DEAL....) its just brilliant to actually finally say: I'M FREE (for 3 months).
major stuff ups in my osce:
* naming the wrong nerve when i knew the right answer
* using the same definition of sensitivity for specificity and then getting frustrated w myself for not getting the right answer out properly! argh! it was painful!
* almost forgetting to take the temperature in the osce that NEEDED the temp taken....i had completely finished the interview, and had to stop talking to the examiner, and then go back to the patient and go, ummmm....hehe....while i was examining u, i forgot to check ur temperature, can i look at it now? ERGH......stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid
* wrapping the blood pressure cuff the wrong way....dumb arse
* "pretending" that i did indeed find the guy's reflexes...when really i didn't
* forgetting to do the movements testing for the spine - after i already made patient lie on the bed....haha..."ummm...can i get u to stand up again?"
* saying there's a fracture in the proximal third of the humerus....and then having examiner go: go higher
cool things abt the osce:
* neurological patient - one blue eye, one brown eye and a good body makes a good examination :D
* lollies!!! snakes galore
* peering underneath poster boards to talk to other ppl
* having examiners give me half the answers that i didn't know
* having some conversations w the examiners and patients after completing the osce...hehe it was more fun
hehe my first osce. not bad. not bad. well....we'll wait until i get my results....and then i'll see if i think its not bad....hehe..we'll see yeah?
hehe, but it was kinda cool. i liked them i guess. formal, wo being so formal. it's probably the best kind of assessment i've ever had.
