world cup soccer match, aus vs italy
i feel this is important to post. bc no matter what, this has now become part of australian sporting history...and it will be nice to remember it.
but this knock out stage in world cup....ARGH. the game, australia vs italy WAS INTENSE. and australia was good. like the game was good.
UNTIL THE FRIGGIN LAST 3 SECONDS. stupid refs. i must say, the refs were pretty good except for 2 calls:
1. the red card to that italian player. i believe that was a bit too harsh.
2. STUPID PENALTY SHOT. he DID NOT trip the player.
i think i'll support lucas neill for the rest of his playing career. and to think we lost over such a controversial point, in the dying 3 seconds.
and for fuck's sake, who knows??? italy may have won in extra time. maybe in penalty time. BUT WE DESERVED THE CHANCE. IT WAS MEANT TO BE JUST.
and it wasn't.
so that's jsut going to make australia bitter. and now we lose hiddick. he must be a genius.
i truly believe that this has converted me to a socceroo for life. i mean, u can't have that and not want to follow this team. i hope in 4 years, we'll beat the arse off italy. make it 5-0. hehe although, italy was DAMN GOOD TOO. i respect them.
just the ref decision. sigh. stupid soccer at times eh?
