one month left

Need #1: black socks...lots and lots of black socks...

hmmm...so apparently i'm going to the hospital tomorrow...which means...hehe MISSING EPI AGAIN! yay (it really makes my day to know that...) that's 3 in a row...hehe opps...hehe...oh wells...not my fault...just that's when we meet our surgeon

my nails have been redone...and ooohhh i do believe i'm going to be needing my own french manicure kit! hehe i rather enjoyed the process...and i learnt abt the carpal bones while waiting for nails to dry...see! nail painting is useful....ah....hehehe

an odd thing happened today - i think i had abt 20 million (ok it was more like 5) conversations revolving around the question: what day is it today?

and after much pondering in all 5 convos (hhehe no memory remember?), it is of course, 7th of Sept...now one of those convos was had in our ethics tute...at which point i realised....ohhhhh its 7TH OF SEPTEMBER!!!! now, for those who don't know the significance of this day (such as a person in my ethics tute group, no names will be mentioned, but his name starts w N and ends with ADS) shame on u!

hmmm...jokes aside, a month til i'm 19 - man i'm old hehe. this year has gone by so fast...its amazing...in a month i'll be having my b'day...i remember last year's b'day - beginning of term 4 of yr 12- ppl stressing abt end of year exam...me having no celebrations bc of said exams....and the thing is i didn't care...despite the fact it was my 18th...i didn't mind one bit that i didn't get to celebrate it...

And if i think abt it, i really don't care for my b'days. i get excited on the day when i wake up, and i'm pleased w the special treatment i get at home, but other than that...i'd rather not anyone know. I don't know why. To me, its just a normal day - nothing really happened on that day...so i was born..so were 50 other million ppl every other day. i think i'm also a little uncomfortable w everyone coming up and saying 'happy b'day' bc suddenly the focus is on me...and i'm like...ohh umm...look at that thing on the floor...hehe...

It's weird though- considering that my parents gave me a b'day party every year from the time i was born until i was 15 when i said: no, i don't want another one. My parents are always wanting me to have a party, but again, i'd rather not. the presents are nice, but the expense of it all, the constant need to smile, the constant need to thank absolutely everyone bc in essence, they're celebrating the day i was born- its all a bit much. oh, and a crucial ingredient to any viet b'day celebration involves the big arse camera w lights - and spotlight on me and argh...all of it just seems so...hmm...overdoing things? - especially for nothing really that spectacular.

An ideal b'day celebration: bacon and indomie for breakfast, watching friends, scrubs and gilmore girls w friends- all my friends, be they plc or monash, something great for lunch, which could be noodles, or fish and chips, or maccas, or hungry jacks (depends on what i feel like on the day) and hehe SLURPEES - oh and ice coffee from starbucks and GAYTIME ICECREAMS...and then me taking my family out somewhere to have dinner, and then maybe a movie, or i should just find us a pool table or a foosball table and have family competitions...

hehe sounds like fun. i don't need a cake, the candles or the presents. Just good company and good food...oh and to be able to sleep in too - and have great music playing while lying in bed!..hehe...bc i love my bed....hehe...

It's a pretty cool plan. In fact, it is AWESOME (hehe i had to do it for good ol' times). I think the brilliance of the plan is that it doesn't need to be done on my b'day or my b'day weekend...and that's all i really want. I don't like the idea that its only bc of my b'day that these things will happen - the best kind of day is when we do the plan on any given day - it's not bc its a special day. We do it because we want to, because we can. Because spending time w family and friends is always special, especially when there is no occasion for it.

And its these good times that make the bad times bearable.
