the creation of other health professions
and.....its gone. so hard to keep the momentum. sigh.
my head is full of facts atm. some are useless (causation criteria for tetragenic drugs ... well, i find them useless to me atm anyway...isn't that why we have pharmicists?? haha my bad) some would be ABSOLUTELY fantastic to remember if i knew them properly.
see that's the thing. i know it w quotation marks. i'm not really sure if i do. its in there somewhere in my head, swimming, and my brain kinda files it under wrong files. its disorganised (despite my organised system of notes). i was doing so well w the study thing yesterday. haha. oh well. i've lost most of my lower limb info i shoved there yesterday. i hate my memory.
haha funny enough, i find all of these infos really interesting. I FIND ANATOMY really interesting actually. haha its just the memory part. which is weird, bc year 12 WAS NOT INTERESTING in anyway, shape or form, but i could remember it in a click. but ask me abt which ligaments do what and why do we have them and the reasons for having a heart, haha i blank out. damn it. haha.
oh i find parasites really boring. yeah that not that much fun. haha u know what i was thinking the other day? the creation of other health professions. i reckon it kinda started out w the doctor and the apothecarist (ok i spelt that wrong which shame on me, did romeo and juilet but i never said spelling was my strongest point). back then it was cool, bc who knew anything abt medicine back then? WE'LL DRAIN HER BLOOD! WE'LL STICK LEECHES ON HER!!
but then when the knowledge started pouring in things just got too difficult for a doctor to hold the responsibility all by themselves. so we started having phsyiotherapists (i call them muscle doctors...haha), dentists (although, who knows why u would just have a profession devoted to teeth), pharmacists which is an old profession but still, they're the drug doctors, nurses who actually DO THE CARING, and the list goes on.
it almost feels like doctor is the general term for all those professions combined. oh i'm sure they do more than what i've just listed there (except the denists, they only deal w the teeth...haha...oh ok fine, and any nerve/artery/vein associated w the teeth - ahha but u know if they stuff up real bad they send them to a doctor anyway) but still....
haha a pharmacist student made a comment abt med students: oh u just have to know what the drug does yeah> not the name?
UMMM HELLO!!! YES WE DO! AND THEY'RE STUPID NAMES!! who the hell decided it would be fun to confuse students by have 'zole' for antiparasitic and peptic ulcer drugs (ok so we know what i've been studying).
haha man that was random. take away msg of the story- doctors need to know the basics of most health professions . I'M DAMN THANKFUL there are other health professions.
